About the Littleton Area
Thank you for your interest in joining our community and serving the residents of the Littleton area. Known as “The Main Street of the Mountains,” Littleton is the largest town in northern Grafton County, with 5,928 residents in the 2010 census. The town is situated at the edge of the White Mountains, the most northern town in Grafton County and bounded on the northwest by the Connecticut River. To the southeast is Bethlehem, to the south is Sugar Hill, Lisbon and Lyman, to the southwest is Monroe, to the northwest, across the Connecticut River, are Waterford and Concord Vermont and to the north is Dalton.

Mountain biking in Franconia
The Franconia area has many mountain biking trails. A local club organizes group rides throughout the spring, summer and fall.
Town highlights:
Littleton: Known as “The Main Street of the Mountains,” Littleton has a picturesque Main Street with many unique shops to visit. Don’t miss out on Chutters (which has the world’s longest candy counter) and the Village Bookstore. You can also visit Jax Jr. Cinemas, a two screen movie theatre open year-round. Littleton is located on the banks of the Ammonoosuc river where you can picnic and dine while looking out at the rapids that used to power the mills. You can also hike Kilburn Crag, which offers a spectacular view of the Presidential Range to hikers.
Bethlehem: The Colonial Theatre, located in Bethlehem, is the longest continually running movie theatre in The United States. The historic theatre shows movies nightly throughout the summer. From May to September you can enjoy free outdoor concerts every Sunday night at the old fashioned Gazebo on the Town Common. The town is also home to the Rocks Estate, a Christmas Tree Farm that also offers musical concerts, nature lectures, wagon rides and maple syrup.
Franconia: Franconia is home to Franconia Notch State Park with many unique sites along I-93. You can visit the Flume Gorge, the Basin, the Old Man on the Mountain Historic Site, swim in Echo Lake and ski and hike on Cannon Mountain. Cannon Mountain has 72 trails, 9 lifts, terrain for all ability levels, the largest vertical drop and highest lift-accessed terrain in New Hampshire and New Hampshire’s only aerial tramway. You can also visit The Frost Place, Robert Frost’s farm homestead. Don’t forget to hike to Lonesome Lake!
Sugar Hill: Welcome to the newest town in New Hampshire, incorporated in 1962. Sugar Hill is home to the Lupine Festival during the summertime. Lupine Festival events include, histori-cal inn tours, cooking workshops with inn chefs, exhibits dem-onstrations & sales of artisan works, lupine field walks and mu-sic festivals. Don’t forget to visit Polly’s Pancake Parlor for one of the best breakfasts in the North Country!
